Platense remain unbeaten at home in this competition, having taken seven points from nine available as a product of two victories and one stalemate.
Argentinos Juniors succumbed to their first defeat under recently-appointed coach Pablo Guede last Monday, when they lost 3-1 away at Colon despite having taken the first lead.
