Lanus vs Godoy Cruz
Lanus are experiencing a disappointing start in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last Saturday, they returned home empty-handed after a deserved 1-0 away defeat at Newell’s Old Boys, which left them pointless in this competition and still out of the Copa Libertadores places in the aggregate table (two behind fourth-placed Boca Juniors). In fact, Frank Kudelka’s men claimed a single win across their last seven league games, along with two stalemates and four losses. At home, Lanus won only one of their last four, drawing one and losing two. Centre back Jose Canale is suspended for Saturday after seeing a red card at Newell’s Old Boys while Raul Loaiza succumbed to a muscle injury and won’t feature.
Godoy Cruz experienced a good debut in the Copa Liga Profesional last Sunday, when beating CA Central Cordoba 1-0 at home thanks to a strike from Hernan Lopez in the second half. With one game in hand, El Tomba made it three points in this competition to remain occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table, having succumbed to a single defeat in their last eight league games (four wins and three draws). On a sorry note, Godoy Cruz are winless in their last seven on the road, having drawn four and lost three since beating CA Central Cordoba 2-0 in April. There is no relevant injury news for coach Daniel Oldra to visit Lanus on Saturday.
Godoy Cruz is not that good when playing away, but Lanus has been quite poor so far as they are adjusting to play without a couple of players that left the club, so I’ll trust the visitors not to lose here.
