Huracan vs Barracas Central
Huracan are still fighting to stay in the top flight. On Tuesday, the team reversed the score to beat Argentinos Juniors 2-1 away, with Ignacio Pussetto netting a brace. Therefore, El Globo stopped a three-match winless streak of one draw and two defeats in the Copa Liga Profesional to make it 16 points in group A, entering the playoff zone. More importantly, they left the relegation zone in the aggregate table, now leading Colon by two points. Huracan secured 12 points from 15 available at home in this competition, having won four and lost one so far. Matias Coccaro and Lucas Carrizo are ready to return from suspension on Monday.
Barracas Central are going through a worrying moment of form. Last Tuesday, the team were dominated from beginning to end and suffered a deserved 2-1 home defeat to Gimnasia LP (at Huracan). That result means El Guapo claimed a single victory across their last five league matches (drawing one and losing three). Following that streak, the side remain on ten points in the Copa Liga Profesional group A and are dangerously edging closer the relegation zone in the aggregate table (leading Colon by six points at the moment). To make matters worse, Barracas are on six defeats in a row as the visiting side.
Huracan will have their top scorer, Matias Coccaro back from suspension and they will face the worst defense in the league (19 goals conceded in 10 games) who are also on a 6 consecutive defeats on away matches, so while I think Huracan should win here, I’m not fully ready to trust them again but I’ll go for the over as they’ve conceded at least once in their last 5 games and they won’t have experienced defender and captain Fernando Tobio, plus all their 5 home games in this tournament had at least a couple of goals.
