Argentina Copa de la Liga: Belgrano – Tigre odds for November 6, 2023

Belgrano – Tigre

Belgrano succumbed to their first defeat in the Copa Liga Profesional last Monday, when they couldn’t handle playing with ten men for around 60 minutes and ended up losing 2-0 at Lanus. That result stopped a 11-match unbeaten streak of four victories and seven stalemates in league action, but they remain as one of the group B leaders on 18 points (along with Godoy Cruz and CA Central Cordoba). In fact, Guillermo Farre’s men are still into the Copa Sudamericana zone in the aggregate table. At home, Belgrano have been unbeaten in their last six at home, having won three and drawn three. Centre back Erik Godoy is suspended for Monday after seeing a red card at Lanus.

Tigre returned to winning ways right on time. Last Tuesday, they secured a massive 1-0 home success over group B leaders Godoy Cruz thanks to a strike from Ezequiel Forclaz in the first half. The team stopped a seven-match winless streak of three draws and four defeats in league action to make it nine points (still bottom in group B) and to avoid falling into the relegation zone in the aggregate table (now holding a one-point gap over Union Santa Fe, Colon, Huracan and Sarmiento). Tigre are on three consecutive defeats as the visiting side.

Tigre was just lucky to win last week and they are still in my eyes the biggest candidates to get relegated. They are 1 point above Colon in the anual table so they are under big pressure, they won’t have Robert Rojas, their best defender, and they should be in trouble against this Belgrano who can secure a place in the playoffs with a win.
