Barracas Central vs Colon
Barracas Central are going through a little slump in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last Monday, the team had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Sarmiento, playing as hosts at Huracan. That result means El Guapo claimed a single victory across their last four matches in the Copa Liga Profesional, drawing one and losing two. Accumulating seven points in as many games in group A, Sergio Rondina’s men remain leading the relegation spot in the aggregate table by just five points. On a positive note, Barracas are on ten matches unbeaten as the hosting side, with five victories and five draws. Lucas Colitto and Rodrigo Herrera will miss out against Colon as they continue to recover from their respective injuries.
Colon deflated their performance last time out and had to settle for a scoreless home draw in a boring city derby against Union Santa Fe. El Sabalero continue to perform a great campaign in the Copa Liga Profesional, accumulating 13 points after losing only one of their last four matches (two victories and one stalemate), which places them into the playoff zone in group A on 13 points. In addition, Nestor Gorosito’s men remain out of the relegation spot in the aggregate table, holding a one-point gap over Gimnasia LP and Velez Sarsfield. On a sorry note, Colon lost their last two away matches (to Huracan 2-1 and Instituto 3-1).
I like this renewed Colon despite their irregular campaign so far in this tournament and even though they are fighting to avoid relegation I think that in a couple of months they will be celebrating that they stay in the top division. Barracas has been strong when playing at home, so I’ll go for the OVER here because they have the worst defense in the league right now with 13 goals conceded in 7 games.
