Argentinos Jrs vs Huracan
Argentinos Juniors are going through a little slump in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last Friday, the team succumbed to an unexpected 3-2 away loss to relegation candidates Gimnasia LP in a thrilling game. That result means El Bicho are now on four league games without a win (drawing two and losing two). Pablo Guede’s men remain on 12 points in group A, which is still enough to stay into the Copa Sudamericana zone in the aggregate table. At home, Argentinos are unbeaten in the last four in domestic action, with two wins and two draws in that time. All regulars are available to host Huracan on Tuesday.
Huracan played one of their worst games in the Copa Liga Profesional last Friday and succumbed to an unexpected 3-1 home loss to Instituto. As a result, El Globo made it three league games without a win (drawing one and losing two) to remain on 13 points in group A, dropping out of the playoff zone. Following that streak, Diego Martinez’s men are now occupying the relegation spot in the aggregate table, trailing Colon by one point with five rounds to go. Furthermore, Huracan haven’t claimed any victories in their last four away matches, taking a single point from 12 on offer in that spell. Striker Matias Coccaro collected his fifth yellow card against Instituto and is suspended for Tuesday while Lucas Carrizo will serve the second game of his ban. Fernando Tobio remains sidelined after succumbing to a muscle problem shortly before the last match.
Huracan is losing momentum at the worst possible moment. They are in the relegation spot with only 5 games left, and today they won’t have their top scorer Matias Coccaro, so I expect them to struggle here against a solid Argentinos Jrs.
