Argentine Primera Division: Rosario Central – Barracas Central Odds for October 31, 2024

Rosario Central – Barracas Central

Rosario Central continue struggling to claim victories. Last Saturday, the team showed another disappointing performance and had to settle for a lucky scoreless away stalemate at Instituto. As a result, El Canalla are on three league games without a win (drawing two and losing one), which places them on 24 points after 19 rounds of Liga Profesional action and far away from the continental spots in the aggregate table. On a positive note, Central are now unbeaten in their last five home matches, with three wins and two draws since losing to Huracan 1-0 in July. Centre backs Facundo Mallo and Carlos Quintana have both reached the yellow-card limit and are suspended for Thursday.

Barracas Central are clearly the worst team in the league at the moment. However, they rescued a home point last Friday, drawing 1-1 against Estudiantes at Deportivo Riestra with Nicolas Demartini netting the equaliser in the 94th minute. El Guapo are now on four league games without a win, drawing two and losing two, which keeps them bottom in the Liga Profesional table on 13 points and ten points above the relegation zone in the aggregate rankings. On away turf, Barracas won only one of the last nine, along with three stalemates and five losses. Goalkeeper Sebastian Moyano continues to recover from a knee injury. Centre back Gonzalo Goni, affected by a muscle problem, won’t feature.

I would take a home win here considering how bad Barracas are overall and especially when playing away, but Rosario Central are missing their two central defenders while Barracas has conceded easily lately so I’ll go for the OVER here.
