Huracan – Central Cordoba
Huracan remain alive in the fight for their first league title since 1973. Last time out, the team haven’t shown their best version but had enough to beat Union Santa Fe 1-0 away thanks to a penalty netted by Hector Fertoli in the 101st minute. El Globo made it four league matches unbeaten (three victories and one draw) to accumulate 34 points in the second spot of the Liga Profesional table, four behind leaders Velez Sarsfield. In fact, they also are three points behind the last Copa Libertadores’ berth in the aggregate table. At home, Huracan lost only one of their last 15, winning nine and drawing five. On Thursday 24, Frank Kudelka’s men lost 2-1 to CA Central Cordoba in the Copa Argentina semi-finals. Walter Mazzantti is ready to return to league action after missing the last game.
CA Central Cordoba continue to extend their outstanding moment of form. Last time out, the team found it easy to beat Independiente Rivadavia 2-0 at home with Matias Benitez and Jose Florentin scoring. El Ferroviario are now on nine league matches unbeaten, with six victories and three draws in that spell to accumulate 22 points in the Liga Profesional, which also places them five points above the relegation spot in the aggregate table. On away turf, Central won two and drew two of the last four. On Thursday 24, Omar De Felippe’s men won 2-1 over Huracan in the Copa Argentina semi-finals.
After Velez drew on Saturday now Huracan has a massive chance to get just 1 point behind them with a win here, but they will face a red hot Central Cordoba that not only is in amazing run but also already beat them 2-1 just a few days ago in the Copa Argentina semifinal so I’ll go for the OVER here on this short totals line as I can see both teams scoring and the hosts getting more desperate at some point.
