Rosario Central v Banfield

Rosario Central are going through an irregular spell in the league. Last time out, the team succumbed to an unexpected 2-1 away defeat to Defensa y Justicia, one of the worst outfits in this competition. El Canalla made it three losses across their last five league games, along with a single win and one draw. As a result, they remain on just 22 points after 17 rounds of Liga Profesional action. However, Central have been unbeaten in the last four league matches at home, winning three and drawing one. Winger Jaminton Campaz returns on Sunday after overcoming a muscle problem.

Banfield still have work to do if they want to secure their top-flight status for next season. In MD17, the team lost 2-1 to Estudiantes at home after conceding the winner just one minute before the final whistle. El Taladro made it two consecutive defeats in the Liga Profesional, which left them on 17 points. As a result, they remain just eight points above the bottom spot of the aggregate table. Banfield won only one of their last four on the road, drawing one and losing two.

Rosario Central are irregular but strong at home as usual, and with Campaz back in attack they should be able to beat this very poor Banfield that once again will have missings due to injuries.
