Huracan vs Tigre
Huracan don’t want to give up on their fight for the title. Last Saturday, the team secured an important point on their visit to Argentinos Juniors, drawing 0-0 away in a hard-fought game. In fact, Frank Kudelka’s men have been unbeaten in their last 15 league games, winning eight and drawing seven. Huracan haven’t lost any of their last 12 home encounters, with seven victories and five stalemates in that spell.
Tigre played their best match in 2024 last weekend, when they dominated from beginning to end and secured a massive 5-1 home victory over Union Santa Fe (who were second-placed beforehand). El Matador put an end to their three-match winless streak of one draw and two defeats in league action to make it 13 points in the Liga Profesional, climbing out of the relegation zone in the aggregate table (now advantaging bottom-placed CA Central Cordoba by one point). Tigre claimed only one success across their last 13 away matches, drawing three and losing nine.
After Velez’ win on Saturday now Huracan are in 2nd place, 3 points behind them and if they don’t want to be left behind they will have to win here. Tigre comes from their best performance in a very long time where they scored 5 goals, but they are still one of the worst defenses in the league with 18 goals conceded in 12 games. Huracan has struggled to score lately but against this defense they should do it, and with Tigre desperate for points I have to expect a game with at least 2 goals.
