Copa Libertadores: Nacional (Uruguay) – Sao Paulo (Brazil) Odds for August 15, 2024

Nacional (Uruguay) – Sao Paulo (Brazil)

Nacional ended up in second spot of the Copa Libertadores’ group H table on ten points (six behind River Plate) following a 2-1 away at Libertad in Paraguay. On August 4th, El Bolso celebrated the Uruguayan Torneo Intermedio title by beating arch-rivals Penarol on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the final. Overall, they remain unbeaten in the last five competitive matches, winning three and drawing two in regular time. At home, Nacional won four and drew one of the last five.

Meanwhile, Sao Paulo became group B winners thanks to a deserved 2-0 home success over Talleres, making it 13 points and leapfrogging their opponents by goal difference. On Sunday, Luis Zubeldia’s men won 1-0 over Atletico Goianiense at home to make it four competitive matches unbeaten, winning three and drawing one without even conceding, and holding onto fifth spot of the Brazilian league table on 38 points. On a sorry note, Sao Paulo have been winless in their last four on away turf, with two stalemates and two losses in that time.

Nacional scored in 14 of their last 15 games this year and they will face the 3rd best attack of the brazilian league so a couple of goals here seem very likely between these two teams that looked strong in the groups stage.
