Argentine Primera Division: Independiente vs San Lorenzo Odds for August 03, 2024

Independiente vs San Lorenzo

Independiente are getting worse week after week. Last Saturday, the team were clearly dominated by newcomers Independiente Rivadavia and lost 1-0 away from home. That result means El Rojo are yet to win under recently-appointed coach Julio Vaccari, having drawn one and lost two so far, which leaves them on just seven points after eight rounds of Liga Profesional action (a terrible campaign that prevents them from fighting for a continental ticket). At home, Independiente won three, drew five and lost one of the last nine. Left back Adrian Sporle is suspended after seeing a red card at Independiente Rivadavia.

San Lorenzo are finding trouble to overcome their irregularity. Last Saturday, El Ciclon were barely able to take a home point following a 1-1 home stalemate against Newell’s Old Boys. Despite dominating for most of the game, El Ciclon just found the equaliser in the 80th minute through Sebastian Blanco. As a result, they accumulated just six points in the Liga Profesional (with one game in hand) and remain without any clear aims in the league after winning only one of their last ten matches in this competition (along with four stalemates and five losses). San Lorenzo won 1-0 at Gimnasia LP in their last away game to stop a nine-game winless streak of five draws and four losses on the road in domestic action. The reinforcements should finally be cleared to play on Saturday.

Finally after paying some debts, San Lorenzo will be able to use their new players and that should make them much better in attack with playmaker Realli and strikers Vombergar and Tripichio making their debuts.

Independiente still can’t use their own new players, they’ve looked quite poor lately and I’ll go for the OVER as I expect the visitors to score at least once.
