Talleres vs Atletico Tucuman
Talleres took advantage of playing against ten men for over 45 minutes last weekend and secured a massive 3-1 away success at Independiente. Besides taking their first three points in the Liga Profesional, la T also made it nine matches unbeaten in league action (four victories and five stalemates) to enter the Copa Sudamericana zone in the aggregate table. At home, Talleres have been without defeat in the last six domestic games, winning four and drawing two. On Tuesday 14, Talleres beat CD Cobresal from Chile 1-0 at home in a Copa Libertadores group match.
Atletico Tucuman played their best match of the season last Sunday, securing a big 1-0 home victory over Boca Juniors with Mateo Coronel finding the back of the net in the first half. In the context of a disappointing campaign, El Decano made it two victories and two draws across their last five league games, along with a single defeat. That streak allows them to open a healthy eight-point gap over the relegation spot in the aggregate table, occupied by Tigre. On the other hand, Atletico are winless in their last seven as the visiting side, drawing two and losing five.
Despite the win vs Boca at home in the 1st round, Atletico should find trouble against this very solid Talleres that are on a great run and looking solid both in the local league and Copa Libertadores. They won’t rest any players because they now have a full week to recover and they already secured a place in Libertadores’ Round of 16, so they will make an effort here to stay perfect after two rounds and they should be able to beat this poor Atletico that won only twice so far this year.
