Instituto vs Huracan
Instituto produced an excellent recovery last Thursday, showing great improvements to beat Gimnasia LP 3-1 away in round eight. As a result, La Gloria stopped their two-match losing streak in Copa Liga Profesional action and are trailing the playoff zone in group A just by goal difference, accumulating 14 points so far. On a sorry note, Diego Dabove’s men are on three matches without a win as the hosting side, having drawn one and lost two in that stretch (since beating Atletico Tucuman 3-0 in round two). Centre back Miguel Brizuela continues to recover from a muscle problem and will miss out on Monday.
Huracan played their best match in 2024 last Thursday, when they secured a massive 2-0 home success over defending champions Rosario Central under interim coach Walter Coyette. Thanks to that victory, El Globo put an end to their six-game winless streak of two stalemates and four defeats in league action to make it also eight points in as many matches in the Copa Liga Profesional. On a sorry note, Huracan are on three consecutive defeats on away turf. Right back Lucas Souto remains out after succumbing to an ankle problem shortly before the last game.
Instituto are going through a great season despite some irregular performances at home, but I’ll trust them here to beat this poor Huracan who beat Rosario Central this weekend but are still 6 pts behind the playoffs zone and will need to take risks because a draw is useless for them.
