Tigre vs Godoy Cruz

Tigre is now bottom in the point-average table following their 2-1 away defeat to Defensa y Justicia last Monday when they were given two red cards and ended up losing the game after conceding in the 81st minute. Having won only one of their last five games (one draw and three losses), El Matador remains on 14 points and have a mountain to climb in order to keep their Superliga status. However, they grabbed seven home points from the last nine in an offer.

Godoy Cruz had their home match against River Plate in round 13 postponed. Prior to that, they had lost at Huracan 2-1, which broke El Tomba’s three-game winning streak in the Superliga. Nevertheless, the side is producing a decent campaign, sitting in eighth on 19 points. On a sorry note though, Godoy Cruz lost four of their six league matches so far, only beating Union Santa Fe 3-0.

Godoy Cruz seems the better side here, but Tigre have been improving at their own stadium and like in most Tigre games I have to go with the OVER here. Their last 5 matches had at least 2 goals (15 goals in total so an average of 3 per match) and due to their terrible situation in the relegations table, they have no choice but to play offensive football every week.
