Arsenal vs Instituto
Arsenal still have a mountain to climb if they want to stay in the top flight. Even though they won 2-0 over Colon at home in their last league game (stopping a seven-match winless streak of two draws and five defeats and a three-game losing run at Estadio Julio Humberto Grondona), the team finished their Liga Profesional campaign in the worst spot of the table on 22 points. To make matters worse, El Viaducto are also bottom in the point-average rankings, trailing Sarmiento by 17 with 14 rounds to go.
Even though Instituto succumbed to a devastating 4-2 away defeat to Godoy Cruz in their last league match (which stopped a two-match winning streak in this competition), the side produced a worthy campaign in the Liga Profesional. Accumulating 32 in 27 matches, they look likely to stay in the top flight unless all goes very bad for them in this second semester. On a sorry note, Instituto succumbed to seven defeats in their last nine league matches on the road, along with just one victory and one draw.
Arsenal will get relegated at the end of this season unless they pull out a miracle out of nowhere and win many games in a row, and the only way they can try to do this is by taking risks so I’ll go here with the over in this very low totals line.
