Arsenal – Instituto

Arsenal played a more than decent match last Sunday and deserved to win away at Banfield, but they lacked effectiveness and ended up drawing 0-0 in an uneventful match. El Viaducto remained winless in their last five matches in the Liga Profesional, having taken only one point from 15 on offer in that spell. As a result, they are still bottom in the league rankings on 18 points, which also keeps them as the worst team in the point-average table with 17 remaining rounds to save their top-flight status. At home, Arsenal lost their last two matches (to Platense 2-0 and Defensa y Justicia 2-1).

Instituto continue finding trouble in their struggle to consolidate their top-flight status. Last Sunday, the team lacked effectiveness up front and ended up suffering an unlucky 1-0 home defeat to Tigre. As a result, La Gloria remain on 26 points in the Liga Profesional, having won only one of their last eight matches in this competition (along with three stalemates and four losses). In fact, Diego Dabove’s men are now sitting in the penultimate spot of the point-average table, only leading Sarandi Arsenal. To make matters worse, Instituto secured a single point from the last 21 on offer on the road since beating Boca Juniors 3-2 in March.

If Arsenal has a remote chance of avoiding relegation it will be because they will finish better than Instituto at the end of the year, so they will have to take risks here as a win could be very important for them but they also have the 2nd worst defense in the league so I can imagine them conceding.
