Huracan vs Talleres
Huracan continue finding trouble to overcome their terrible reality. Last Monday, the team ended up suffering a narrow 1-0 away defeat at defending champions Boca Juniors in an intense game. That result means El Globo remain pointless in two games under recently-appointed boss Diego Martinez and also made it ten without a win in league action (three stalemates and seven defeats). Therefore, they occupy the relegation spot in the aggregate table on 19 points, six behind Independiente, Banfield, Union Santa Fe, Colon and Velez Sarsfield. At home, Huracan took just two points from the last 12 available in this competition, drawing two and losing two. Fernando Godoy, who has been replacing the injured Federico Fattori, is now suspended after seeing a red card at Boca Juniors.
Meanwhile, Talleres wasted the chance to keep fighting for the title last Monday, when they weren’t able to convert any of their goalscoring chances and had to settle for a scoreless home draw against Union Santa Fe. La T continue producing an excellent campaign, sitting in second spot of the Liga Profesional on 45 points after losing only one of their last 11 games in this competition (seven victories and three stalemates), but they are now trailing leaders by nine points with just three rounds to go. On away turf, Talleres collected ten points from the last 15 available as a product of three wins, one draw and one loss. Striker Michael Santos had to be replaced against Union Santa Fe with muscle issues and will miss out here.
Even if Talleres won’t have striker Santos, I have to go here with one of the best teams in the league against the worst and desperate Huracan.
