Rosario Central vs Estudiantes
Rosario Central put up a good fight against title contenders San Lorenzo on away turf last Saturday, but they weren’t able to avoid a narrow 1-0 loss. That result means El Canalla are now without a win in their last three league matches (having taken two points from nine available in that spell), a slump that dropped them down to the seventh spot of the league table on 35 points (still qualifying for the 2024 Copa Sudamericana though). However, Central seem unbeatable at home: they hold a 17-match unbeaten run of nine wins and eight draws at Estadio Gigante de Arroyito in this competition.
Estudiantes also had a rough Saturday night as they had to fight more than expected to salvage a point against CA Central Cordoba at home: it all ended 1-1 with Eros Mancuso netting the equaliser near the halftime. El Pincha also are winless in their last three matches in league action, drawing two and losing one, which places them in fifth spot of the league table on 37 points, three behind the last Copa Libertadores berth, occupied by Lanus at the moment. Estudiantes also are on three domestic games without a win on the road, having grabbed two points from nine on offer since winning 2-1 at Platense in late April. Right back Leonardo Godoy will miss at least one more game while he recovers from a muscle injury.
Rosario Central has been extremely strong at home so even if Estudiantes is a good team, they are coming from a poor performance last weekend and these odds on the hosts are just too high to pass.
