Huracan vs Newell’s
Huracan seem unable to overcome their crisis at the moment. In round 20, the team showed a slight improvement, but they still ended up losing 1-0 away at Gimnasia LP after conceding in the 89th minute. El Globo made it six league games without a win, with two draws and four losses without even scoring in that time, and they are one of the worst teams in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 18 points and sharing the relegation spot with Velez Sarsfield and Banfield. As a result, coach Sebastian Battaglia’s job is now in danger. Huracan claimed a single victory across their last seven at home in this competition, along with three stalemates and three losses.
Newell’s Old Boys couldn’t hold onto their lead against Union Santa Fe last time out and had to settle for a 1-1 home draw in an intense match. Following that disappointing result, La Lepra failed to climb into one of the Copa Sudamericana places in the Liga Profesional table, accumulating 28 points so far. However, Gabriel Heinze’s men lost only one of their last seven matches in this competition, winning two and drawing four in that span. On away turf, Newell’s are winless in their last four domestic games, with two stalemates and two defeats. Centre back Willer Ditta has served his two-game suspension and is ready to return on Friday.
Can’t see how Huracan will every win a game again with the way they’ve been playing lately, so I’ll go with the visitors to take advantage of one of the worst teams of the league.
