Atletico Tucuman vs Arsenal
In the context of a deep crisis, Atletico Tucuman were able to get a valuable point on a tough visit to Tigre last Saturday after mostly focusing on keeping a clean sheet. El Decano are going through a very difficult season: winless in their last four league matches (two stalemates and two defeats), Lucas Pusineri’s men are now on 15 points in the Liga Profesional table, three above bottom-placed Union Santa Fe. In fact, Atletico haven’t won any of their last five games at Estadio Jose Fierro, drawing three and losing two since beating Banfield 1-0 in early March. Centre back Bruno Bianchi succumbed to a knee problem and will miss out.
Sarandi Arsenal returned to winning ways last time out, when they showed a great improvement to beat Independiente 2-1 at home in an entertaining game under interim boss Dario Espinola. The team managed to stop a three-match losing streak in this competition and made it 14 points in the Liga Profesional. However, El Viaducto remain bottom in the point-average table, trailing the last safe spot (shared by Banfield and CA Central Cordoba), by 17 points with 24 rounds to go this season. On a sorry note, Arsenal secured a single point from the last 18 on away turf since beating River Plate 2-1 in week five. New coach Federico Vilar will make his debut on Friday.
Huge relegation game for both, specially for Atletico who are in an almost must win situation when they play at home against the poorer rivals. Arsenal has no other option but to go for the win in every game, they will have a new coach that should take more risks so I’ll go for the over here.
