Platense vs Racing Club
Platense played their worst match of the season last Sunday and succumbed to a devastating 4-0 away defeat at Rosario Central. Following that slump, El Calamar extended their winless streak to five league matches, taking a single point in that spell as a product of one draw and four losses. Therefore, Martin Palermo’s men remain on 17 points after 15 Liga Profesional rounds, which keeps them into the relegation zone in the point-average table.
Racing Club are going through their most difficult moment of the season. Last Monday, the team showed terrible defending and succumbed to a 4-2 home defeat to Talleres in an entertaining game. As a result, they are now on six matches without a win in league action, drawing one and losing five in that time. That negative streak drops them down to the 15th place of the Liga Profesional table, accumulating 18 points. On away turf, Racing are winless in the last three in this competition, with one stalemate and two losses.
They’ve both been just awful lately but while Platense will play at home where they took most of their points and they have a full squad available, Racing will miss again many important players like midfielder Matias Rojas and Anibal Moreno, striker Maxi Romero and defender Gonzalo Piovi among others, so I’ll go with the hosts at least not to lose.
