Colon vs Velez
Colon left good impressions on their visit to Platense last Monday, but they couldn’t find the back of the net and ended up drawing 0-0 in an entertaining game. El Sabalero made it nine league matches unbeaten, but they won only one of those (drawing the other eight), which means the team are on 11 points in the Liga Profesional table, just three above bottom-placed Union Santa Fe and Sarandi Arsenal In addition, Colon have been winless in their last eight home matches, with four draws and four defeats in that spell.
Velez Sarsfield showed a worrying version last Sunday and registered a scoreless home draw against relegation candidates Barracas Central in an uneventful game. Ricardo Gareca’s men made it four league games without a win, drawing three and losing one in that time, which means El Fortin continue producing an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 15 points after 12 rounds. Velez claimed a single victory on the road this term, along with two draws and two defeats. Winger Lucas Janson saw a red card against Barracas Central and is suspended for Friday. First-choice goalkeeper Leonardo Burian and centre back Diego Godin will miss out due to different muscle problems.
Too many important missings for Velez who are coming from a terrible performance at home vs the poor Barracas, Colon has been terrible so far this season but sooner than later they’ll have to win a game at home because they’ve been improving since the coach change, so I’ll take them here.
