Copa Sudamericana: Newell’s (Argentina) – Blooming (Bolivia) Odds for April 18, 2023

Newell’s (Argentina) – Blooming (Bolivia)

Through a goal from winger Brian Aguirre in the 94th minute of the game, Newell’s Old Boys made their debut in the current Copa Sudamericana campaign with a massive 1-0 away success at Chile’s Audax Italiano. On a sorry note, La Lepra lost to River Plate 1-0 at home in a hard-fought game last Sunday, a defeat that stopped a three-game unbeaten streak of two victories in all competitions and also a run of six matches without a loss at home (five victories and one draw). Thinking of the league, Newell’s are occupying the 11th spot of the Liga Profesional table on 18 points after 12 rounds.

Blooming fans will have felt devastated after the team’s 1-0 home defeat to Santos FC from Brazil in the group stage opener. However, the team had a happy weekend in the context of a terrible season: they beat Guabira 3-1 on Sunday to break a four-game winless streak of one draw and three defeats in all competitions. It was their first victory across nine league rounds and allowed them to make it five points, opening a three-point gap over bottom-placed Jorge Wilstermann. However, Blooming are on seven away matches without a win, drawing one and losing six since beating Real Santa Cruz 3-1 in September.

Blooming has been terrible in the bolivian league and I don’t know how they will manage to hold this solid Newell’s that becomes even stronger at home.
