Barracas Central – Platense

Barracas Central are getting worse match after match. Last Friday, the team were dominated from beginning to end and succumbed to a 3-0 away defeat to Talleres, showing a worrying performance. Winless in their last five league games (two draws and three losses), El Guapo are dangerously edging closer to the bottom spot of the Liga Profesional table as they remain on nine points in ten matches. Barracas secured just five points in as many home matches this term, winning one, drawing two and losing two.

Platense secured a massive 1-0 home success over Instituto last time out, thanks to a strike from Maximiliano Zalazar in the 93rd minute. Therefore, El Calamar made it five league games unbeaten (winning the last three and drawing the previous two) to accumulate 16 points in the Liga Profesional, which also allow them to hold a two-point gap over the first relegation spot in the point-average table, occupied by Sarmiento. Platense also performed well on the road so far, grabbing seven points from 12 available as a product of two wins, one draw and one defeat.

Barracas are just awful lately, Platense on the other hand has been stronger and more confident, and this is a massively important game for them and their hopes of not getting relegated, so I’m going with the visitors to continue on their good run.
