Colon vs Atletico Tucuman
Ramon Abila’s strike in the 11th minute of stoppage time allowed Colon to secure a valuable point on their visit to Independiente two weeks ago, when it all ended in an entertaining 2-2 away draw. However, El Sabalero are the only team who remain winless in the Liga Profesional and are now occupying the bottom spot of the table on five points, trailing Atletico Tucuman and Union Santa Fe by two. In fact, they are on 11 league games without a win in total, with six stalemates and five losses. At home, Colon managed only two points from the last 18 on offer since beating Patronato (who are now in the second tier) 1-0 in October.
Atletico Tucuman continue facing trouble to claim victories in 2023. Two weeks ago, the team had to settle for a 1-1 home stalemate against Barracas Central after conceding the equaliser in the 81st minute. That result keeps them occupying the penultimate spot of the Liga Profesional on seven points, just two above bottom-placed Colon, as a product of a single win, four draws and three defeats in league action. To make matters worse, Atletico are on seven away games without a win, having drawn two and lost five in that spell.
Colon’s bad run has to end at some point because they are not as bad as their numbers say, and this should be a good opportunity for them against the also terrible Atletico Tucuman.
