Union vs Central Cordoba
Thanks to goalkeeper Sebastian Moyano, who saved a penalty in the 97th minute, Union Santa Fe saved a valuable point on their visit to Talleres last Wednesday, when drawing 2-2 with an alternative XI. However, El Tatengue are now on three league games without a win, having drawn two and lost one in that time. Gustavo Munua’s men produced an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 32 points so far, and ran out of clinching a continental ticket several rounds ago. Union grabbed seven points from the last 15 on offer at Estadio 15 de Abril, winning two, drawing one and losing two in that spell.
CA Central Cordoba showed slight improvements last time out, but they still weren’t able to secure points following a 2-1 home defeat to Tigre in an entertaining game. Therefore, El Ferroviario are now on three consecutive losses in league action, which means they remain on 31 points (with one game in hand). The team have already clinched their spot in the first division for next season but will have to improve if they want to stay safe in 2023. On away turf, Central lost four of their last six games (along with two wins).
Despite resting a lot of regulars Union was able to get a draw against Talleres, and with most of them now back I think they should beat this relaxed Central Cordoba that has lost every game since securing their place in 1st division for next season.
