Argentine Primera Division: Colon – Defensa y Justicia Odds for October 18, 2022

Colon – Defensa y Justicia

Colon put up a good fight against title candidates Racing Club last Friday, but the team still ended up losing 2-0 at home. That result represented their first defeat since coach Marcelo Saralegui’s arrival (they had won three in a row under the new man in charge). El Sabalero remain on 28 points in 25 matches in the Liga Profesional and won’t fight for any significant aims in the remaining games. On a sorry note, Colon lost three of their last five at home, along with a single win and one draw.

Gabriel Alanis’ strike in the first half allowed Defensa y Justicia to celebrate an important 1-0 home success over Union Santa Fe in a hard-fought game last Friday. El Halcon extended their unbeaten streak to seven league games (four victories and three draws) to make it 34 points in the Liga Profesional: thanks to the good campaign, the team secured a ticket for the Copa Sudamericana in 2023 and hold a tiny chance of entering the Copa Libertadores (sitting four points behind the last qualifying spot). Defensa succumbed to a single defeat across their last five away games, having won two and drawn two.

Defensa looks improved lately and i’m going to trust them again here to take something from this game.
