Gimnasia – Argentinos Jrs

Gimnasia LP are almost out of the fight for the title following their devastating 1-0 home defeat to San Lorenzo in a hard-fought game last Wednesday. El Lobo remain on 40 points in the Liga Profesional (with one game in hand), trailing leaders Boca Juniors by eight after winning only one of their last five games in this competition (along with one draw and three losses). On a positive note, Nestor Gorosito’s men continue occupying one of the Copa Libertadores spots in the aggregate table.

Argentinos Juniors were close to clinching a big win on their visit to Godoy Cruz in an uneventful game last Thursday. However, the scoreless away draw means the team succumbed to a single defeat in their last five league games (winning two and drawing two). El Bicho performed very well in the Liga Profesional so far, accumulating 38 points, which allows them to stay occupying the last Copa Libertadores berth in the aggregate table (one point above Huracan).

Argentinos are in great form and close to securing a Copa Libertadores place, Gimnasia has also the same goal so this is a huge game for both but with another game in less than 48 hrs vs Boca they might be not 100% focused here and I like the guests not to lose.
