Manchester City vs Southampton
I am betting Southampton +2.75 here today which feels like a very brave bet considering what Man City done last weekend against Manchester United, it is a difficult one to reason out but i’ll give it a go, Southampton are a lower half competitive team, I think it is an ask even for the likes of City to blow them out of the water and win by 4 goals for this bet to lose in its entirety. Two results which would give me hope for the Saints today was their games against Palace and Villa, 2 teams of a similar standard to Southampton, Palace only lost 4-2 in the Etihad, while Villa who took a point off City in Villa Park. Southampton’s record against City is a good one in terms of this hanidcap, you have to go back to 2018 to see City win this fixture by 4 goals or more and only 2 of their last 9 games between the two teams have saw City win by 3 goal margins. Southampton lost last weekend but I thought they were a little unlucky and could have taken a point and for me on my numbers i believe they are value on the +2.75 handicap line and deserve to be supported in what admittingly is an ugly bet of sorts.Â
