Platense – Union
Platense had a rough night last Friday and suffered a worrying 1-0 away defeat at Patronato in a six-pointer regarding relegation. For now, El Calamar remain out of the drop spots in the respective table though. Omar De Felippe’s men managed a single win across their last five Liga Profesional games, drawing two and losing two, but they remain producing a decent campaign, with 26 points. At home, Platense have been unbeaten in their last ten matches (three victories and seven draws).
Juan Ignacio Nardoni’s goal in the second half allowed Union Santa Fe to clinch an important 1-0 home success over Sarmiento. Thanks to that victory, El Tatengue broke a five-game winless run of five league games (two draws and three losses). Gustavo Munua’s men made it 26 points in the Liga Profesional (with one game in hand) to approach the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table. Union have been winless in their last four away games in league action, having drawn two and lost two in that spell.
I expect a very tight game here, Platense has been strong at home but they won only 3 out 10 games, Union is irregular but they are a solid team and they should be able to take something from this game.
