Independiente vs Aldosivi
Independiente are getting worse game after game. The team succumbed to a devastating 3-1 away defeat at title candidates Gimnasia LP after scoring first. As a result, El Rojo are now on six matches without a win in the Liga Profesional (four draws and two losses), which means they remain on 15 points after 17 matches. Following this disappointing campaign, the side are occupying the 25th place in the aggregate table. At home, Independiente haven’t claimed any victories across their last six games, drawing three and losing three.
Aldosivi returned to their usual poor form last Saturday, when they played below expectations and suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Sarmiento in a six-pointer regarding relegation. El Tiburon are now on three league matches without a win, having drawn two and lost one in the process. Leandro Somoza’s men earned only 13 points in 17 games in this competition, which keeps them into the relegation zone in the respective table, trailing CA Central Cordoba (who are safe) by three points. Â
Even though Aldosivi are far from reliable, Independiente is such a poor team that nothing surprises me about them anymore and they can lose against anyone. Aldosivi should be highly motivated as they need points asap to avoid relegation and they could take something from this game.
