Atletico Tucuman vs Central Cordoba
Atletico Tucuman finally succumbed to their first defeat in the Liga Profesional last Saturday, when they ended up losing 3-1 away at Sarandi Arsenal. However, the team remain as league leaders on 25 points, one above Gimnasia LP. In fact, that defeat broke their impressive 14-match unbeaten streak in league action (eight victories and six stalemates in that time). At Estadio Jose Fierro, El Decano have been without defeat in their last seven matches (winning five and drawing two since losing to Argentinos Juniors in April).
CA Central Cordoba took a little breather on their struggle to avoid relegation last Monday, when beating Defensa y Justicia 1-0 at their own stadium. The team made it two consecutive successes without even conceding in the Liga Profesional to accumulate 14 points, which allows them to open a four-point gap over the first drop spot in the relegation table, occupied by Aldosivi. Â
Even if Central Cordoba looks improved, they should still have problems against the leader Atletico Tucuman that wants to recover from last week’s defeat.
