Central Cordoba vs Boca

Renzo Lopez’s strike in the 77th minute allowed CA Central Cordoba to make it a valuable 1-1 away draw against Barracas Central at Lanus. Their first point in this competition allowed El Ferroviario to stay five points over the relegation zone even though Sergio Rondina’s men are on four league matches without a win, with two draws and two defeats since beating Velez Sarsfield 2-1 away in April. At home, the side have been winless in the last six in league action, drawing three and losing three in the process. Matias Laba and Claudio Riano remain unavailable due to their respective injuries.

Defending champions Boca Juniors opened up their new campaign with a 2-1 home success over Sarandi Arsenal even though coach Sebastian Battaglia decided to field a mostly alternative XI. As a result, El Xeneize extended their unbeaten streak to 13 games in league action (eight victories and five draws in regular time since losing to Huracan 1-0 at home in March). In fact, Boca are on eight domestic matches without defeat on away turf, having won five and drawn three. On Wednesday 8, the team won 1-0 over second-tier club Ferro Carril Oeste in the Copa Argentina second round. Oscar Romero and Luis Advincula remain unavailable due to their international commitments. Most of the regulars will return to league action after resting last weekend.

Boca played really well last weekend despite winning only 2-1 and missing a lot of regulars, but with many of their starters back this weekend they should be able to take the 3 points again.
