Rosario Central vs Independiente
Rosario Central recently-appointed coach Leandro Somoza is finding trouble to improve his team. Last Wednesday, they succumbed to a 3-1 away defeat at Lanus, which extended El Canalla’s winless streak to six league games (with the team earning a single point). Following this terrible run, they dropped down to the bottom spot of the group B table with only eight points, which could compromise their points average for next year. At home, Central managed a single point from the last 12 on offer in this competition.
Independiente are almost without chances of advancing to the playoffs following their 1-1 home draw against Aldosivi despite playing against ten men during about 60 minutes. It was their seventh stalemate across the last nine league games (along with one victory and one draw). As a result, El Rojo accumulate 13 points in group B, trailing fourth-placed Boca Juniors by five.
Both are going through a terrible season and with nothing to play for I expect them to have an open game with goals.
