Argentine Primera Division: River vs Gimnasia Odds for March 13, 2022

River vs Gimnasia

River Plate made it four league games unbeaten (three victories and one draw) last weekend, when they beat San Lorenzo 1-0 away from home thanks to a header from Paulo Diaz. Marcelo Gallardo’s men climbed into the top of the group A table (alongside Defensa y Justicia, Union Santa Fe and Sarmiento) on ten points as a result of that success. Furthermore, El Millonario claimed ten victories across their last 14 home matches in league action, drawing three and losing only one in that spell.

Gimnasia LP are now on three league games without a win (taking a single point in that time) following their 2-2 home draw against Argentinos Juniors in a thrilling game last time out. Nestor Gorosito’s men earned just five points in as many matches in the Copa Liga Profesional, having won only once so, which places them out of the fight for a ticket to the playoffs at the moment. Furthermore, El Lobo are on five away matches without a win, having drawn two and lost three since beating San Lorenzo 1-0 in November. Key player Brahian Aleman saw his fifth yellow card against Argentinos Juniors and is suspended.

This has to be a win for River, especially with Gimnasia missing their playmaker and key piece of their midfield, Brahian Aleman.
