Arsenal vs Lanus
Sarandi Arsenal put up a good fight at group B leaders Estudiantes last time out, but they ended up losing 3-2 away in a thrilling game. The team are showing improvements under Leonardo Madelon, but they earned only four points in as many games. In fact, El Viaducto won only one of their last eight league matches, drawing three and losing four in that spell (which places them in the 23rd spot of the relegation table). On a positive note, they won three and drew two of their last six at home, only losing to Union Santa Fe in the process.
Lanus are still looking for their best version in coach Jorge Almiron’s second spell at the club. Last time out, they registered a scoreless home draw against newcomers Tigre in an uneventful game. As a result, El Granate made it four points in as many matches in this competition. In fact, the team claimed a single success across their last ten games in league action, drawing four and losing five in that spell. Furthermore, Lanus lost their last five domestic matches on the road.
Arsenal is a very irregular team, poor in defense but that can score, especially at home. Lanus might come from a scoreless draw but they have an attack that has to be respected, so I expect to see goals here.
