Boca vs Rosario Central
Boca Juniors managed their first success in this competition last Wednesday, when they beat Aldosivi 2-1 away thanks to a brace from Sebastian Villa. Therefore, the team made it four points in group B and five league matches without defeat (two victories and three draws since losing to Independiente away in November). At home, El Xeneize are on four home games unbeaten in domestic action, winning two and drawing two. However, Boca will host Sunday’s game at Velez Sarsfield due to reseeding works at Estadio La Bombonera.
Rosario Central managed an important victory last Tuesday, when they beat Velez Sarsfield 1-0 at home with Cristian Baez netting the winner in the second half. Cristian Gonzalez’s men made it four points in two matches in this competition and also broke a four-match winless streak of three stalemates and one loss in league action. On the other hand, El Canalla registered a single victory across their last eight away matches, having drawn four and lost three in the process.
Boca showed signs of improvement in their win at Aldosivi, and even though Central should be a tougher rival I think that if they can be more accurate in attack, they shouldn’t have a problem to take the win here.
