Union Santa Fe was close to clinching their ticket to the 2020 Copa Sudamericana last weekend, but they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 away draw at second-placed Defensa y Justicia after conceding in the 98th minute. However, they are still sitting in eighth on 35 points, having lost a single game of the last six in the Superliga (three wins, two draws). At home, Union managed seven points from 12 on offer in 2019.
Last weekend, Estudiantes failed to beat relegated side San Martin Tucuman, who played with ten men since the 50th minute. However, the 1-1 draw means El Pincha are now unbeaten in the last three matches, having won the previous two. With 28 points in the league table, the side has no other aims than increasing their poor points average for next season. Estudiantes beat Huracan 1-0 in their last away game, but that success ended a seven-game winless streak of three draws and four losses on the road.
I think Union Santa Fe are the better side here and should have enough to beat Estudiantes and get that Copa Sudamericana 2020 spot.
