Colon is now on seven league matches without a win (three draws, four losses) following their 1-1 home stalemate with San Lorenzo last time out. It has been a dire campaign for El Sabalero, who occupy the 22nd spot of the league table on just 22 points. However, 18 of those points were claimed at home as Colon registered four victories, six draws and a single defeat in front of their own fans.
San Martin SJ succumbed to a heavy blow last time out when losing 3-2 at home to Argentinos Juniors. After six league matches without a win (three draws, three losses), El Verdinegro remains on 21 points in the league table and are occupying one of the relegation spots, three points from safety. On a positive note, they beat second-tier side Villa Dalmine 1-0 in their last competitive match to advance to the Copa Argentina’s second round. San Martin earned only two points in their last six league travels.
San Martin de San Juan is in a must-win situation so like in the other games of this weekend involving relegation teams I expect an open match with a desperate team going all in at some point.
