Platense vs River
Platense had a terrible trip to Santa Fe last time out, when they suffered a devastating 3-0 away defeat at Colon. That slump means El Calamar won only one of their last four league games, along with one draw and two losses, to accumulate 23 points in the league table. That places them in the 20th spot of the relegation standings, which is their main worry at the moment. Besides, Platense are on five home matches unbeaten at their own stadium, but they won only one of those and drew the other four.
River Plate took another step towards their first league title since 2014. The team played in perfect style to thrash Patronato 5-0 at home, which extended their unbeaten streak to 15 matches in the Liga Profesional (12 successes and three draws). El Millonario maintain their six-point gap over second-placed Talleres at the top of the league table (46 to 40) and need three more wins to become champions. On away turf, they haven’t lost any of the last seven in this competition (five wins and two draws since Godoy Cruz beat them 2-1 in round 5).
River is just days aways from winning the championship, they’ve been scoring freely lately and I think they can do it here again.
