Godoy Cruz vs Talleres
Godoy Cruz are experiencing irregular form at the moment. Last Sunday, they played a poor game and ended up losing 1-0 at San Lorenzo, one of the worst teams in the league. After a good run, El Tomba have now claimed a single win across their last six league games (drawing three and losing two). Their campaign is decent as the team accumulated 26 points, but they remain occupying the 23rd spot in the relegation table. Godoy Cruz are on five home matches unbeaten, having won two and drawn three.
Thanks to a header from Diego Valoyes in the first half, Talleres managed an important 1-0 home success over Huracan last Saturday. Thanks to that victory, the team broke a three-match winless streak of one draw and two defeats in league action and kept the second spot of the league table on 36 points (trailing leaders River Plate by seven with six rounds to go). Alexander Medina’s men also continue occupying one of the Copa Libertadores’ berths. On a sorry note, Talleres are on three matches without a win on away turf, having drawn one and lost two since beating Racing Club 2-1 in September.
Even though Talleres is one of the best teams of the tournament they’ve been poor lately when playing away, so I’m going to trust this solid Godoy Cruz that is one of the surprises of the league.
