Harry Maguire’s rumoured transfer was invalidated by Claude Puel, manager of Leicester, who was full of praise for the defender’s performance during the world cup finals.
“I am confident about the presence of Harry for this season. He is a very good player for us,” Puel told Sky Sports.
“I was not surprised about his performance during this World Cup. We saw his progress during the second half of the season.”
“He was great and played very well. It was not a surprise to see him perform well at this level in the international game.”

Maguire, 25, joined the current club last year on a £17m deal. He was previously playing for Hull before he signed with Leicester.
However, an assertion is circulating about United’s willingness to raise offer to £75m to bring Maguire to Old Trafford.
Though Puel is keen to retain Maguire, Kasper Schmeichel and Jamie Vardy after Leicester released winger Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City for £60m.
“Of course for us, he is a very good player – I wait for him with impatience because we need Harry and we need also Jamie [Vardy] because they are Leicester.”
