Argentinos Jrs vs Central Cordoba
Argentinos Juniors saw their nine-match unbeaten streak of four victories and five draws in league action coming to an end last Thursday, when they lost 1-0 at Sarandi Arsenal in a hard-fought game. El Bicho wasted a chance of becoming one of the league leaders and now they remain on four points in three rounds. However, Argentinos are on six games without defeat at home in this competition, having won four and drawn two since losing to Velez Sarsfield 2-0 in February.
CA Central Cordoba secured a valuable 2-1 home success over Talleres last Thursday, when striker Milton Gimenez found the winner in stoppage time. The team continue improving their points average to stay away from relegation threats, having taken four points from nine on offer in the Liga Profesional and broken a three-match winless run of two draws and one loss in league action. On a sorry note, Gustavo Coleoni’s men haven’t claimed any victories in their last five on away turf, drawing three and losing two since beating Aldosivi 2-1 in March.
Argentinos might not be the most reliable team right now but they should have enough to beat Central Cordoba at home.
