Platense vs Sarmiento
Platense couldn’t hold onto their 1-0 lead and ended up losing 3-1 away at Godoy Cruz in an entertaining game last Saturday. Following their second consecutive defeat in the league, El Calamar managed just three points in as many games since their return to the top flight. Platense won only one of their last seven matches at home, drawing two and losing four in the process.
Sarmiento had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against Talleres after conceding in stoppage time last Saturday. Therefore, Mario Sciacqua’s men managed only two points in three games since their return to the first division (which places them bottom in the point-average table) and also extended their winless run to five league matches (four draws in regular time and one defeat).
In the meeting between the two recently promoted teams I definitely see Platense as the more solid one despite their two recent defeats. Sarmiento was very lucky to get a draw vs Talleres while Platense just was very close to get something from River. At home I think they shouldn’t lose this game.
