Lanus will have nothing to play for here following their 1-1 away draw at Patronato last weekend when coach Luis Zubeldia picked an alternative XI. The team are now on five points in four matches in the Fase Complementacion’s group A, trailing leaders Rosario Central by five. El Granate is winless in their last three matches in this competition, having drawn two and lost one. At home, Lanus won only one of their last seven domestic games, along with three stalemates and three defeats.
Rosario Central are now the only leaders in group A on ten points following their 3-0 home success over Defensa y Justicia last time out. They opened a three-point gap over the second spot and will advance to the Fase Complementacion’s final in the event of avoiding the defeat here. El Canalla is on five matches unbeaten, with three victories and two draws in that spell. On away turf, they took seven points from the last nine on offer.
Lanus plays for nothing and they have the return leg of the Copa Sudamericana semifinal in a few days so they will obviously rest all their regulars, while Rosario Central will secure the 1st place of the group with one point, what means that I have to go with them not to lose here.
