With Eduardo Coudet still on the bench, Internacional lost to Universidad Catolica 2-1 away and had to settle for the second spot in Group E after an irregular run of two wins, two draws and two defeats. The team have a lot to improve under recently-appointed boss Abel Braga. Last Sunday, O Colorado drew 0-0 at Atletico Goianiense to remain in the fourth spot of the league table on 37 points, five behind leaders Atletico Mineiro. Inter won only one of their last six matches and it was a 1-0 away success in the cup at second-tier side America Mineiro (who eventually beat them on penalties). The rest of the games ended in two draws and three defeats. At home, they earned a single point from the last nine available.
Meanwhile, Boca Juniors haven’t found any difficulties to win group H with 14 points following an easy 3-0 home win over Caracas FC. Last Sunday, El Xeneize beat Newell’s Old Boys 2-0 to climb into the top of group 4 in the Copa Liga Profesional on nine points, one above Talleres. That success also stopped a two-game losing run in that competition. El Xeneize has been unbeaten on away turf in 2020, having registered eight victories and one draw so far.
Boca Juniors seem the better side here and should be able to take advantage of Internacional’s many absences due to suspensions and injuries.
