Guarani showed a great display of effort on their visit to Palmeiras in week two, but they ended up losing 3-1. That means the team collected three points in two Copa Libertadores’ matches in 2020. On Saturday, they managed to beat Sol de America 2-1 away from home to make it 36 points in the fourth spot of the Paraguayan league table. Gustavo Costas’ men have suffered a single defeat in their last six competitive matches, along with four victories and one draw. At home, Guarani is unbeaten in the last eight, with five successes in that span.
Tigre is struggling in the Copa Libertadores. Following their 2-0 away defeat to Bolivar, the team are bottom in Group B without any points. Nestor Gorosito’s team couldn’t play since March 15th, when they lost to Instituto 3-0 at home to stay in the fifth spot of the Argentine second-tier group B. After the league cancellation, they continue waiting for news about how the promotions to the top flight will be given. Overall, Tigre is on three defeats in a row and they also were beaten in their last three away encounters.
Guarani is clearly the better side here and they shouldn’t have any problems to beat a Tigre team that has lost 11 players and doesn’t play a competitive game in over 6 months.
