Tigre vs Banfield

Tigre’s task to keep their Superliga status becomes harder week after week. The team remain bottom in the relegation table, 11 points behind the first safe spot, following a 3-1 away defeat at Gimnasia LP in a six-pointer. They accumulated 18 points so far, with only four of those arriving in the last five rounds. At home, Tigre is producing an irregular campaign, with two wins, four draws and two defeats.

Banfield managed a single point in two games under recently-appointed boss Hernan Crespo. Last weekend, the side lacked effectiveness up front and ended up losing 3-1 at Talleres in an entertaining game. Prior to that defeat, they had been on five away games unbeaten, with two victories in that spell. Having claimed a single win in the last six league matches in all venues (along with three draws and two losses), El Taladro is sitting in 13th on 22 points.

It’s been a classic for me to take OVER in Tigre games due to their desperate football style and I’m going to do it this week as well. They have the worst defense in the league with 30 goals conceded, and they have no choice but to keep taking risks.
